Armand Bayou Park - November 2, 2009

Gloria and I were going to the Armand Bayou Nature Center but it was closed so we just stopped off at the Public Park for a few pixs. 

I believe that day we also did a little shopping.  Any day out and about is a good day!!

Baytown and LaPorte - June 9, 2009

Today we headed north to the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site then for lunch at the Monument  Inn -- yum, yum!!

We then headed over to LaPorte to check out Sylvan Beach and the RR Depot.

Another great retiree day!!

Alvin, Angleton, Clute and Lake Jackson - June 3, 2009

Today it was just Gloria and I.  Our first stop was in Alvin at the train depot, Froberg Farms, and the Shimek Gardens outside of town. 

Next on to Angleton for a stop at the Stephen F. Austin statue.

Then on to Clute and the Center for the Arts & Sciences to view the large shell collection which was awesome.

Our last stop had us visiting the Sea Center in Lake Jackson where Gloria's nephew gave us a one-on-one tour.

What a great day!

Brazos Bend State Park - May 18, 2009

Our trip to Brazos Bend was a beautiful day -- crisp and blue skies.  Gail, Gloria and I biked nearly the whole park and our rear ends were testimony to that. 

We spotted many birds, mating alligators, turtles, deer and a rabbit. 

At one point, it was a hard decision whether or not to bike through the alligators -- one on each side of the path.  Not so brave, then brave Gloria decided to take the plunge and went through first then Gail and I joined her.  Whew!!!  Look at Gail going through the gators below!!

We had a great picnic lunch under the large oaks.  We couldn't have asked for a better day!!!
